And More Catching Up...

No, we haven't fallen off the face of the earth, and we are back for some more blogging.

Since we're once again catching up, there are a lot of pictures and a few videos to follow.

On Valentine's day we took Josiah for a picnic and it was a great opportunity to try to get some pictures of him. Well...good luck getting him to hold still. This is the best we could do.

Aaron just got a Honda Phantom motorcycle and Josiah begs to ride it. It's already in his blood.

And lately, one of Josiah's very favorite things to do by himself is read. Well, ok...not read but look at books. He'll grab a stack, sit in a chair and entertain himself for a while.

And here are two videos of my little man talking. In the first one he's showing off his animal sounds and in the second, just some words he can say.

A Lot of Catching Up To Do...

So, as my mother-in-law reminded me this weekend, it's been a while since I've posted pictures of Josiah. Sorry Grammy!! Grab a chair because this is going to be a very picture heavy post!

While Mom and Dad were here, we went to Mae Sa Elephant Camp. It was so much fun! We rode the elephants, fed them, visited the nursery and watched a great show done by the elephants. Sadly, Josiah was terrified of the elephants and didn't really want to get near them. He was okay riding on one though.

Josiah saying "Cheese" for the camera.

He missed a nap, so he's getting sleepy.

Josiah feeding a big mommy elephant.

Although Josiah was scared of the big ones, he really enjoyed petting this one month old baby. Did you know that female elephants are pregnant for 22 months? Poor things!!

Josiah freaking out because he's too close to an elephant! ha!

I think this picture is hilarious! Josiah was terrified of the elephant and wouldn't sit still for the picture. He was grabbing Aaron's shirt until his knuckles were white.

We had to do a border run to Myanmar. Here we are at the northern most of Thailand. The blue sign in the background is the border of Myanmar.

While we were on the border of Myanmar and Thailand, we took a boat and crossed over to the border of Laos as well. Josiah really enjoyed the boat ride but it was freezing!

My cute little man in his life jacket.

We stayed in a hotel on the border of Myanmar. We don't have cable at home so Josiah was mesmerized by the Thai infomercials.

Josiah gets to eat some cool stuff living overseas. We were on a road trip and stopped for a snack. We got Josiah some sticky rice cooked in bamboo shoots. He loved it!

A close up of the rice/bean bamboo thing.

Josiah loves this hat and asks to wear it all the time now.

Josiah loves noodles and learned to slurp them up because Pawpaw showed him. Thanks Dad...

16 weeks with baby boy

Here is my 16 week picture. Everything seems to be going well. I think I've felt our little guy moving around a little, but it's so hard to know for sure this early.

Aaron and I have agreed on a compromise for naming this boy. I told him that he could pick the first name and I'll pick the middle. We could still use some name suggestions though. Just nothing that starts with "J" please.

I'll be posting some pictures soon of our trip to the elephant camp with Mom and Dad. We had a blast!

Baby # 2 is....

A boy!!! He was very proud of himself yesterday at the ultrasound and the doctor had no question that it's a boy. :) We're so, so excited! And we think it's great that Josiah will have a younger brother so close in age. God has blessed us!

Thanks for voting!

So now we just need to find a name that Aaron and I actually agree on. Please leave your suggestions for some good boy names.

Boy Or Girl

We go to the doctor tomorrow for a check up and he said that he might be able to tell us the sex of the baby. Honestly, I'm not holding my breath but we'll see! It would be nice to find out while Mom and Dad are there with us. I would love to have a little girl, but I also love the idea of Josiah having a little brother. It's pretty much a win/win situation for us! :)

Anyway, I still don't have a clue one way or the other about what I'm having. So, I thought that I would take a poll. I'll add one to the top of the page, so please vote and let me know what you think we're having.

And I'll tell you a little about my pregnancy so you can make an educated guess!

1. I started feeling sick at 3 weeks but with Josiah I felt fine until 6 weeks.
2. I'm craving a mixture of meat, fruit and sweets. With Josiah I only wanted sour stuff - pickles, green olives and lemons.
3. I'm already huge, but I think that's just because it's my second.
4. I'm more tired with this one than I was with Josiah.
5 One night I dreamed I had a girl and then a few weeks later I dreamed it was a boy.
6. I did not sleep well in my first trimester but with Josiah I slept great through the whole pregnancy.

Well, I can't think of anything else for the list right now. So, please go vote!

Josiah's First Haircut

I'm having mixed emotions right now. My baby boy just got his first haircut and well...he doesn't look like a baby anymore. It really is past time for him to get it cut though - he's 17 months old and when it was wet it hung below his shoulder blades. I love the cut, I think the lady did a great job but I'm really going to miss those curls. At least this way maybe people will stop telling me that I have a beautiful daughter! :)

I was really nervous about how he'd do while the lady attempted to cut his hair. He took it like a man - with a cookie in each hand and mom holding a sucker! He really did great and she was done in no time. We did keep some of those sweet curls too!

The "before" shot. Here he is waiting with Papa.

The first cut!

You can see the cookie and sucker in this photo. Wish you could see all the hair on me!

Here's the "after" shot! What a big boy...

Here's a shot of the back.

And this is the best I could get of the front.

12 weeks with # 2

Yes, it's true - I'm finally in my 12th week! We went to the doctor on Monday and got a good report. The baby looks healthy and the heart beat is strong.

I'm sure you are all wondering if we are going to find out what we're having this time. I loved not knowing with Josiah - that was the best surprise ever - but I think that I want to find out this time. My doctor said that he might be able to tell us at the next appointment, so we're excited about that.

The doctor's appointment was fun because Mom and Dad were able to come with us. When the doctor performed the ultrasound we were all in the room together. It was Dad's first time seeing an ultrasound and hearing a baby's heartbeat. The doctor even moved my next appointment up a few days so that Mom and Dad could make it to that one before they leave!

So, here is my 12 week picture. Just to end the questions before they start - yes, I'm sure I'm only 12 weeks along and yes, I'm sure there is only one in there.
