Josiah in Jaisalmer

This was Josiah's first time in Jaisalmer...actually it was the first time for all three of us. All I can say is "Wow! When can we move?". It was absolutely beautiful. As usual, we did some fun history stuff, but that's Aaron's department to blog about. One of my favorite things we did was go out to an area with large sand dunes and ride a camel as we watched the sun rise over the dunes. It was Josiah's first camel ride.

Josiah and Papa at Gadsisar Lake. I think this is a great picture!

Yep, that's right...it's a government authorized (look at the sign) bhang (yep, marijuana) shop. This shop serves marijuana in lassi's. For an interesting article on bhang in India go here. Don't worry, I only got a picture of the shop...I didn't actually try anything.

You can see the fort/city behind us.

Josiah with one of his favorite people in Jaisalmer - the owner of the guest house.

Here we are riding the camel - his name is Babbalu and he is 10 years old.

Josiah in Bikaner

As you probably figured out by the lack of blogging, we were out of town last week. We traveled to Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and then back home - it was a LOT of time in the car. Josiah did really well though in spite of the many hotels and miles! We did a lot of fun history stuff, but I'll let Aaron post on that since he does a much better job on those kinds of posts. I just wanted to post some pictures of Josiah on his first trip to Bikaner.

This is in the hotel room. As soon as we got into the room I had to bundle him up. Yes, it really was this cold!!!

Here is Josiah and me in front of a painted door in the city fort.

Just a cute picture of Josiah in the fort.

And here he is on the road again! Aaron joked that he's a road warrior, but the truth is he's just a travel warrior! It still blows me away to think that he had his passport at 6 weeks old! : )

My monkey loves bananas!

A few weeks ago, I decided to see if Josiah was ready for some food. I figured I would just try it and see if he was interested - if he wasn't I'd just wait for a couple more weeks and try again. I decided to start with bananas as do most South Asians. I was blown away because Josiah absolutely loved it! He would lunge at the spoon if I wasn't shoveling it in fast enough!

I think this picture says it all!!

About a week later, I decided to try apple and he loved it too! My sister (thanks Elaine!) sent this great safe feeder for Josiah. I can put any fruit in it and he can chew on it without choking. For the website go here. Sometimes I put ice in it too and it makes a great teether. I can see that this is going to be one of my favorite things for Josiah!

Josiah's Wheels

While Pawpaw and Nani were here they bought Josiah some wheels! He's only just now big enough to really use it though. He hasn't figured out yet that he can go forward, he only scoots backward and then cries because he's going the wrong way!

And here is a family picture that Mel's Mom took while she was visiting.
