Brotherly Love

When Casey came along I had no idea what a blessing it would be to watch Josiah and Casey's relationship grow. It really is an amazing thing! Josiah is such a good brother and Casey just adores him. Even when he's not in a smiley mood, Casey smiles for Josiah every time he sees him. My brother and sister were almost teenagers when I was born, so I kind of missed out on growing up with a sibling. I guess maybe that's why I find Josiah and Casey's relationship so interesting.

Trying to get a good picture of these two together is almost impossible!

Take # 134...

Finally! It's not great but it's good enough!

Casey is four months old!

Josiah giving Casey a bear hug. :)

This is one of my favorite pictures of them together.

I was washing dishes one night and Josiah decided he was going to read to Casey.

My sweet boy!

Can you find the Casey? Josiah decided to put all his stuffed animals around Casey.

And here are a few random shots:

Josiah and Papa working hard as they sand this piece of bamboo.

We bought Josiah a bike for Christmas and gave it to him early since we won't be here. We bought it on a Saturday and by Thursday the boy was pedaling so fast that we have to jog or ride a bike to keep up!
He calls it his "Spider Bike" (because it has Spiderman on it).

And saving the best for last.....here's Aaron on his way to the post office to mail his completed thesis!! He's holding 5 years of our lives in his hands there. I'm so proud of him! He'll be graduating with his Masters in December. Congrats honey!

More pictures!

It's hard to me to find the time to sit down and write much these days. Life is busy with two little ones and we're getting ready to leave for the US in about 6 weeks. So much to do!
With that being said, here are some pictures for you...

Anytime Casey is in his Bumbo, Josiah asks to have their picture taken.

Look at that smile! Makes me melt...

I love my Bumbo!

Ha ha!!

Casey likes his new view of the world.

in his underwear!!

Tummy time!

And here are two videos. The first one is really for Nani and Pawpaw. The second one is Josiah talking to Casey. He ALWAYS talks to him this way and he calls Casey "Sweet boy". I guess he got that from me. :)

Picture Post

I don't have time to write much today. I'll just post a bunch of pictures....

The boys were with me as I was working in the kitchen one morning and Josiah said "Look Mommy, Casey has a hat!"

This picture makes me laugh because of the spit up coming out of Casey's mouth.

Casey didn't think it was very funny...

Tummy time!

Smiling boy!

And here are a few short videos:

Here is a funny one of Josiah dancing.

Josiah showing off his counting skills!

Casey cooing and smiling. I have no idea what I'm laughing at, so just ignore me...

Casey Brian Is Here!

Well, it's about 9 weeks late, but I'm finally posting that Casey Brian Goccia is here! I have tried numerous times to update the blog but something has always hindered me! He was born at 8:23 PM on Friday, July 24th. He weighed 7.5 pounds and was 20 inches long. I woke up at 2:15 AM on the 24th with uncomfortable contractions (meaning I was not able to sleep through them anymore). I packed hospital bags and tried to rest as much as possible until we left for the hospital at 7:30 AM. I wanted to stay at home longer but we were afraid that if we waited too long that Bangkok traffic would be really bad. We arrived at the hospital and they put me on the table to monitor Casey's heartbeat. At 8:05 AM I felt Casey give me a huge kick and my water broke. I labored until I couldn't handle it anymore at 4:10 PM. The contractions were so close together and so intense that I had no time to rest in between. The doctor came in to check me and I almost started crying when he told me I was only at 4 maybe 5 centimeters. This is exactly what happened when I was in labor with Josiah and I ended up having a c-section with him. My doctor knew that I wanted to avoid a c-section so he suggested trying an epidural. I quickly agreed :) and within 5 minutes of receiving the epidural I was feeling much better. By 7:10 PM I was fully dilated and ready to start pushing. Casey finally arrived at 8:23 PM! It was certainly a physical challenge but I'm so glad that we did not have another c-section. I have to add that there is absolutely no way I could have done it without my coach, Aaron. It was hard on me physically but it was hard on him emotionally and mentally. He was amazing! He was so encouraging and really helped keep me focused.

Here I am feel REALLY good after the epidural! :)

Casey was pushed out and straight into my arms! I missed that with Josiah so it was an extra special blessing this time.

We did it!!!

I always like to know why people give children their names. We liked the name "Casey" for it's meaning - "vigilant" or "strong". And we got his middle name (Brian - "noble") from his cousin who died at birth.
Life has been crazy since Casey has joined the family, but we are so grateful for another healthy baby boy. Josiah has done remarkably well with the new intruder! :) He really is a great big brother and a huge help to Mommy. Here are some pictures of Casey and Josiah since we got back home to Chiang Mai.

Precious boy! Do you see Josiah in the background giving kisses?

Casey's exercising...

This is David and Casey. David is 3 days younger than Casey but was born a month premature. We went to college with David's parents and in June they moved from the US and into our neighborhood!

Josiah LOVES to help give Casey his bath.

Maybe someday I'll get a good picture of both of them together. :)

Sorry the blog has been neglected lately. I'll try to do better in the future...it's just low on the priority list these days.
